The Big Box Storage Rental Experience: What to Expect

At Big Box Storage, we strive to provide San Diego renters with all the information they need about our portable storage service. However, we understand that every customer’s situation is unique, and questions may still arise. That’s why we’re offering this detailed overview of what to expect when renting a storage unit from Big Box Storage.

Ordering a Big Box

Choosing Big Box Storage for your storage needs? Great decision! You can schedule a Big Box delivery in one of two ways:

  • By phone: Call 619-353-9614 to speak directly with a friendly representative.
  • Online: Book your storage unit through our website for added convenience.

The Big Box Delivery Process

We deliver storage units seven days a week at your preferred time slot:

  • 8 AM – 11 AM
  • 11 AM – 2 PM
  • 2 PM – 5 PM

A 30-minute courtesy call will be made before arrival. You’ll need to be present to receive the unit and complete any required paperwork (rental agreement, invoice, etc.). Our driver will place the Big Box wherever is most convenient for you—typically a driveway or curbside, wherever a car could be parked.

The Big Box Pickup

Unlike delivery, you don’t need to be present for pickup. Just schedule your preferred date, and our team will retrieve your Big Box between 9 AM – 5 PM. We’ll transport it to our secure storage facility in San Diego.

Secure Storage Facilities

Once at our 50,000+ square-foot storage facility (located at 7077 Consolidated Way, San Diego, CA 92121), your Big Box is stored indoors with top-notch security, including:

  • Perimeter alarms
  • Motion sensors
  • Exterior fencing
  • 24/7 video surveillance
  • On-site staff

Accessing Your Stored Items

Need to retrieve something? You can access your Big Box seven days a week (10 AM – 5 PM) with just two hours’ notice. Our team will have your unit ready in the customer access area, allowing you to drive right up to it—no hallways or elevators needed.

Big Box Redelivery: Getting Your Items Back

When you’re ready to retrieve your items, simply call 619-353-9614 to schedule a redelivery at your San Diego home. Unlike traditional storage, there’s no need to rent a truck, load, and unload.

Your Big Box can also be shipped long-distance to metro areas across the U.S. Fees vary by destination, but local re-delivery in San Diego is just $99 (free for initial delivery with a 3-month minimum rental).
