Big Box Storage Sponsors Annual Poway Holiday with Heroes Event

Big Box Storage was proud to sponsor the Poway Kiwanis Club’s Annual Holiday with Heroes event on December 8th, 2022, at the Mickey Cafagna Community Center in Poway. This event has become a favorite in the Poway community, where local heroes and families in need come together for a day of holiday cheer and giving.

The Holiday with Heroes event helps families who are facing financial difficulties by giving their children a chance to “shop” for gifts for their loved ones. About 150 families from Poway attended this year’s event. Each child was paired with a community hero, such as a military member, firefighter, or police officer, who helped them pick out gifts. These heroes not only assisted the children but also served as positive role models.

The event didn’t end with shopping. Afterward, the children enjoyed festive activities like holiday games, music, and photos with Santa. The day wrapped up with a holiday dinner, where everyone gathered to celebrate the season together.

In addition to picking out gifts for their families, the children also received presents for themselves. These included art supplies, cozy crocheted beanies and blankets, books, candy, stuffed animals, socks, a large box of food, batteries, wrapping paper, and more—making sure their holidays were special.

Big Box Storage played an important role by donating portable storage units to store donated gifts and supplies. They also helped transport everything to the event location, ensuring everything was ready for the children and their heroes.
